Al Nolen says he may return next week
During Tuesday's media availability, Al Nolen said he might return next week once the Gophers face South Dakota State within their final nonconference tilt. Nolen said a lingering stress fracture is responsible for the pain sensation that's kept him from the team's last four games.

The Gophers co-captain said he really wants to make certain he's prepared to play because he does not want to incur further injury. He also said he's looking to get back into game shape after missing so much time.
"I wasn sure [when I would return] from what the doctors had explained about the type of injury. [They] said hello would be a frequent injury,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Nolen said. "Arriel McDonald,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Bobby Jackson had it plus they said they ended up returning and one of them actually broke their foot trying to return too soon, so they told me don push it. I had been hoping I would return just a little sooner than this, however i have to take proper care of it and just get ready for Big Ten season."
Nolen said he opted against a procedure that will address the strain fracture with screws.
