Site onto a new domain,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
I know this is a question that usually ends with a 301 redirect as the answer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. I have a site with a domain url I'm not to thrilled about,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. I've been running this site a few years now,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
I purchased a new domain but am very hesitant in putting everything on the new domain and doing the 301. I tested doing this with another site at one time and the change took more time than I hoped it would,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]; to regain the original rank.
I guess I would first want to know how good the current sites link profile is, as well as if it currently ranks well for any "good" terms. Are you simply stressing over type-in traffic?
Aside from not liking the hyphen,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I am not quite sure why you would want to change the domain. If you move the content to a new domain you will be starting over with your link building, a 301 of your old site to the new one is just going to help you retain traffic from bookmarks and inbound links. However,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I'm starting to get more involved with offline events. I would like to use the new,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], easier to remember,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], domain for all my offline promotion and stationary. I know not all people use the address bar when searching for a specific site. I never do for some reason. I always use the engines.
Imagine you see an eloan commercial and you're interested in the service. You get online and instead of using the address bar, you search for eloan in yahoo or google only to find several other listings. The url you were expecting to see isn't there but car-loan (their other domain) is. Would you click on it?
I was thinking maybe I could just make the new domain a landing page just good enough to rank for its own url keywords,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Any outbound links can be nofollow or 302 redirects so there will be no issues with it being seen as a doorway strategy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].

Its doubtfull I would. But given hyphenated domains rank as well as anything else and are harder to market, I would still think more about this,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], especially if you have done a lot of marketing with the hyphenated version.

There are probably multiple options,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but myself I would be too concerned about the confusion the different domains/domain names would cause for customers. I was thinking what I would do if I was in your shoes and I would probably transition everything to the new domain and setup a 301 once its live. Second choice would be to simply 301 the new domain to the old,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but I prefer that more if I am trying to capture domain typos etc
